Staying in style - old wine-growing estate

Where Côte d’Or and Saône et Loire meet, separated by the Canal du Centre near Santenay, that is where the former wine-growing estate ‘La Vierge Romaine’ dating back to the 17th century is nestled between vineyards.

The name comes from a Roman legend. As is well known, Burgundy was the region where Roman-Gallic battles took place, and Julius Caesar wrote his De Bello Gallico not far from here.

A ‘pigeonnier’ (pigeon tower) and vaulted cellar are features defining the romantic estate, bearing witness to its majestic history.

Enjoy the splendid view of nature while having breakfast at the foot of the vineyards.
